The sun drenched shores of Pohnpei found Guinness Gallagher reviewing the key state-owned asset of this tiny Micronesian island for privatisation. Pohnpei is one of the 10 island states that makes up the Federated States of Micronesia and is heavily reliant on its fisheries resource. One of its main assets and key employers is the island's fish processing factory. Guinness Gallagher reviewed the business for privatisation, including preparing the factory for due diligence. In this process we identified a number of legislative and organisational issues which detracted significantly from the value of the asset and made recommendations on how to overcome these issues, add value and manage risk.
